Synthesis: Sound + Yoga

  • Chunky Move 111 Sturt Street Southbank, VIC, 3006 Australia (map)

Two unique sessions of yoga and live sound for Melbourne Music Week.

Expect to go on an ethereal journey as we move through postures that bring deeper connections to our hearts and minds. Each class will also explore the power of directing sound into various areas of the body through guided breathwork and sound meditation techniques in a Vinyasa yoga style. Nat Grant creates a live soundscape for this yoga class making this a holistic experience where one experiences the sound within the body.

The first hour of the practice will be dedicated to grounding ourselves into our bodies through breathwork, followed by postures that enhance the connection to the breath, and will end with restorative postures that will allow you to fully immerse yourself with the vibration of the sound. By attending either unique class, you will ultimately experience the powerful effects of live sound as it relates to transforming the energy of the body. You will leave the class feeling profoundly connected to yourself and completely integrated between the mind, heart, and body. In addition, upon leaving the class trendsetting tea artisans Storm in a Teacup have curated a flight of complimentary teas catered to the heart or mind.

This is an inclusive environment, although some prior yoga experience is recommended. This event is supported and part of Melbourne Music Week of Self Made presented by JBL.
